K-Kruz (aka Keith Kreuser) steps out from behind the boards and partners up with Boy King Islands' Jason Hunt for their first official release as Their Ocean.
Critics have already drawn comparisons to contemporaries Bon Iver and Antlers, however Their Ocean shows with two tracks on this 7" that they have more range than both.
“Breathe” is the more indie pop sounding of the two with an upbeat groove and a dreamy layered soundscape, with an electronic breakdown at the end that displays this group's inovative production.
“Believe” is the more retro sounding of the two, with analog drum sounds, warm guitars and analog synths;
it almost sounds like a future Fleetwood Mac track produced by the Soulquarians.
Their Ocean is working on completing their debut full length Skies Light Up, featuring appearances from rapper Kenn Cardo (aka Diverse of 1am fame) and Stuart Bogie of Antibalas. Look out for Skies Light Up early 2013.
